Billy Lowry is lead singer & guitarist for a new Phoenix rock band "OPTIMAL CONFUSION", feat. Matt Kyhn on bass & Matt Radlauer on drums. Shows, website, & a full album are coming very soon! Billy grew up in Seattle & studied music theory & piano at ASU. His genre ranges from alternative-indie to prog-rock pop. He has toured the entire West Coast & elsewhere & has been in a variety of different bands: 'Union Rock’, ‘Nobody's Fault’, 'The Fur Traders', 'Echo Junction'; to name a few. When living in CA, he was lead guitarist & back-up singer for 'The Future?’.
Since the release of his 2022 debut solo-album, "All The Same Monster", Billy has had over a million Spotify streams & a million Apple Music streams. He is humbled by numbers from other streaming sites as well. On that album, he sang & played nearly everything: piano, bass, guitar, a ukulele, kalimba, ocarina, & accordion. He also played all the instruments & sang on all of his latest releases "Nightmares", "The Day After", "Shepherd Boy", & "Marigold".
Billy also enjoys being one of the main mentors for the New Artist Spotlight & is also a part of the AMS Music Group. He also teaches guitar in downtown Phoenix.
NEWER PROJECTS
Billy Lowry continues his musical journey with Found Soul - a collaboration with Samuel Wallace & many other talented artists; where he played all of the guitar. He is also very excited to release a piano/guitar duel titled Rabbit Hole; his most personal song yet, scheduled for April 2026.
Billy was thrilled to lend his drum & bass skills to many songs by Quizboy & NeverSayNever last year. Other collaborations from 2025 were with Passive Panic & 4 new tracks were also released with Jules Sherwood. Billy is also excited about his new album Tragic Hour, with new Phoenix based band Optimal Confusion, set to release a full LP album - with a new single release every month, starting in May 2026.
